Duties:
- Provide supervision and companionship to our clients
- Follow care plan and documentation
- Assist clients with ADLs as required
- Work in the community or at our facility
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
- PSW Certificate
- 1 year experience in long term care settings
- 1 year experience with dementia
- 1 year experience with 1 on 1 and companionship
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- TB test/Chest X-ray
- Vulnerable sector police check
- Would be an asset to have CPR certificate
- Would be an asset to have completed dementia GPA training
- New graduates are welcomed and we are willing to invest and train the right candidates

Summary of qualifications and requirements:
- Experience in long term care would be an asset
- CNO license in good standing
- Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice per the CNO
- Skilled in med admin, treatment implementation & injections
- Continued pursuit of knowledge of nursing standards and Ministry of Health and Public Health
- Think critically, set priorities and organize work in response to client/patient needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of transfers and lifts
- Strong assessment skills
- Supervise PSA/PSW
- Ensuring the quality of care provided and that patient rights are upheld at all times
- Knowledge of documentation requirements and care planning process, including computerized documentation
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families and fellow employees
- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, must be able to provide three work references (also subject to our internal background screening process)
